Ogle Awards 2004 WRW Wins Twice!

Well, it’s that time of year again.

The Workshop has scored two Ogle Awards at this years CONvergence Convention. The Swords of Adanac

We have just completed the voice recording for Mark Homayoun’s Swords of Adanac . Music, editing and sound effects will now be added over the next couple of month’s and hopefully before Christmas, we’ll have a new series underway. Keep your ears peeled. Mark’s story was developed at the first Writer’s On the Air Workshop . His long standing interest in RGP (Role playing games) provided the framework for this coming of age story of 3 friends looking to prove thier worth in a land populated with Dragons, Wizards and other nasties (”What others?”).[...]

Audio dramas are gaining popularity as producers find people of a mind to listen.

The costumes are wonderful: a radiant pink is outfit, complete with a silver-tipped magic wand; a black robe and face paint for a ghoul; a dazzling green, child-size frog tunic. But only members of the audience are wearing them.

The actors are dressed in T-shirts and jeans. Clutching scripts, they stand at the end of the gymnasium that’s been designated “the stage.” A small pile of objects—including a bell, a balloon and a large sheet of metal—lies to the side.

Cynthia McGean (Writer/Actor/Director)

Cynthia McGean, WRW’s dramaturge and resident playwright is an award-winning published writer, director, actress, social service veteran and educator.
