WRW on the Radio for Halloween 200

October 31st, 2006

This Tuesday, Oct. 31, KBOO will air 2 pieces from WRW. THE OUTSIDER, adapted by Joe Medina from the classic horror story by H.P. Lovecraft, and THROUGH THE TURNSTILE’S, by Carole Dane both members of the Writer’s On the Air Workshop.

THROUGH THE TURNSTILE’S is an original rumination on the need for human contact, set in a post-apocalyptic world in the not-too-distant future. TURNSTILE’s was created at last year’s Writer’s On-the-air Workshop, and is funded in part by the Regional Arts and Culture Council.

THE OUTSIDER is a collaboration between Sam A. Mowry and Joe Medina to explore the text of a Lovecraft story with the sound effects and production they bring to their work with Modern Audio Drama. This broadcast is a great example of how the Workshop keeps experimenting with original stories, existing texts and how we always look for new ways to tell stories with sound.
