The Willamette Radio Workshop brings classic Sci-Fi to the 9th Annual UFO Festival

The award wining Willamette Radio Workshop presents a new version of the Sci-Fi classic “The THING” by John Campbell. Following in the steps of Howard Hawks ’50’s classic and Jon Carpenter’s 80’s masterpiece, WRW has commissioned Joe Medina of “Afterhell” fame to craft a new audio version and bring this epic story into the 21st century.

Where Did It Come From? How Did It Get Here? WHAT IS IT?

Scientists at an Arctic research station discover a spacecraft buried in the ice. Upon closer examination, they discover the frozen pilot. All hell breaks loose when they take him back to their station and he is accidentally thawed out!

With live Foley by David Ian and original music and sound design by Martin John Gallagher, all under the direction and starring Sam A. Mowry, this will be an amazing hour of audio drama, in the classic tradition of War of the Worlds and Zero Hour.

Plus a classic short from the 40’s with a Flash Gordon serial.
